Dry Wall Lift

Whirlpool dryer.. 2 years old. Need to open to drumand get lint out?
Anyone know how to open a 2 year old Whirlpool electric dryer to the drum? and heating element/??? While researching on yahoo answer a while back a dryer repair DIY person shared how to open the dryer..... Is it the top piece that lifts up first? Are there clasps somewhere on it? Also we need to check behind the front of dryer.. Need to get lint off of drum and dryer walls...We have already cleaned out the dryer vents...The clothes are not drying which is what started this dismantling...
UNPLUG the DRYER from the electricity.
Get a putty knife, insert it under the front edge of the lid until you find the spring release. They are located near the left and right corner. Push in with the putty knife and the spring will release that corner. Lift up on it while you release the other corner, Then lift up the lid.
Take the vacuum cleaner and suck out all the old lent you can find. Do not use a wire to reach in and remove lint. It is almost 100% chance of knocking a wire loose from a contact or catching a wire and breaking it.
When done, just close the lid and then plug the dryer back in.
